The fantasy of the Playstation phone is now a reality with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. The Xperia Play is the first mobile to bear PlayStation certification, which is a fact that is compounded by its inclusion of slide-out gaming controls which features a four-way D-pad, dual touch-sensitive areas to replace analogue sticks and the shape-emblazoned buttons which have defined PlayStation controllers for years.

HTC Evo Shift 4G Phone

Category: Cell Phones - Date: February 20, 2011 - Discuss: 2 Comments

Here’s some information on the HTC EVO Shift. First released in January 2011, this smartphone is powered by Android’s software and is to be used for Sprint’s 4G network. Here are some basic specs on this phone.

  • It comes with Android version: 2.2 (also known as Froyo) with one touch access to Google services like search, voice maps, streetview, gtalk, youtube and picasa. Plus you can access thousands of apps available in the Android market. As I’m sure you’re aware, Android powered browsers support websites with Adobe flash, unlike the iPhone.
  • One feature I enjoyed was their “mobile hotspot functionality” as they call it, which means that you can use any other wifi enabled device like a laptop to share the Sprint 4G connection while on the go. This is especially useful to use while traveling. If 4G is not available in the area you’ll be on 3G.

A quick look under the hood reveals a powerful 1 GHz processor. You’ll enjoy multi tasking and faster response times with the Android 2.2 operating system. This means it supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1 so you can now access flash-enabled websites, videos and games.

Canon PowerShot SD1300

Category: Digital Cameras - Date: February 8, 2011 - Discuss: 3 Comments

This Canon Powershot is 12MP point and shoot camera worth around $100. That’s what I call a good bang for your buck. As time progresses these small cameras are approaching the quality of larger SLR cameras. I’m not saying this specific camera is that good, but within a few years we’ll be there. Now let’s get back to the review of the Canon PowerShot SD1300.

Let’s talk pictures. The SD1300 can shoot pictures at a maximum resolution of 4,000 x 3,000 pixels and the videos are 640×480 at 30fps. If you want to print an original large picture your prints can be as big as 13″x18″.
