Caribou Coffee and Gifts for Proud Coffee Addicts

Are you one of the lucky cats within reach of a Caribou Coffee? If so, don’t tell me - I don’t even want to know. I’ve just spent the better part of the morning on their website doing the whole, “Want that, want that, want that..” song and dance. At last count, I think I was around 89 - what can I say, I’m good at what I do. The lovelies below are just some of the things in my virtual cart: There’s a Coffee bag (A heavy duty bag, made from recycled burlap bags that carried green coffee beans.), a White Canister Set (A Caribou set for two), a Slate Coasters Set, a hot Pink Mug with the Caribou coffee logo, a Car Coaster, Kitchen Towels….and that’s just scratching the surface.

Needless to say, they also have tons of coffee, sweets, and other food items. Trust me, you’ll want to click the button below and have a look around - this stuff is gorgeous, and amazingly low-priced.

Amazing Screensavers and Wallpapers

If your computer is as pivitol to your life as mine is to mine, you spend a great deal of time with it. It makes you laugh, it makes you scream, it makes you money, it costs you money….. Kind of like a spouse, eh?

Something my computer and I like to do for fun is try out new screensavers and wallpapers. I share my computer with my 3 daughters, so I’ll often find mine replaced with Zac Efron, Justin Timberlake, or Johnny Depp - but when I get a shot at it, my favorite places to get them are National Geographic.com and Screensavers.

You can get mind-blowing, eye-popping 3D screensavers at the latter, like the Screensavers Above . They aren’t just spiffy, they’re free. These are just a few of my favorites, click the link and find some that float your boat.

Wicked Lasers 95mW Green Laser Pointer Review

When Wicked Lasers sent us their Wicked Lasers Advance Phoenix 75mW to review last year, I wondered why I needed such a powerful laser pointer. After fiddling with it, I still don’t see why I needed one. But, boy was it fun! I don’t need one, but I sure want one.

This year, Wicked Lasers introduced their new Evolution series of green laser pointer. And fortunately for us, Wicked Lasers has sent us a unit to review again! This time, a Wicked Lasers Evo 95mW.

The Looks

Every Wicked Laser comes in a sleek case. Cool engraving.
Goggles to protect your eyes. Full view of the laser goggles.

In my opinion, the new design looks way better than the previous. It has sleekness written all over it. The silver gives it a touch of class which the previous design lacks, and the construction feels solid. The ‘ON’ button has a solid click to it too.

In Action

You gotta see it to believe it. I’m not sure about you, but pointing the laser pointer into the sky for the first time was quite a breathtaking experience. The beam shines so high up into the sky that it seems almost endless.

The green laser.

But other than the ability to point at faraway objects, it is also possible for it to “burn” certain dark-colored objects. Don’t expect to light up buildings and burn people though. Here’s a video of it in action.

Price

The price tag can be considered a little hefty. But if you really need something for pointing out distant objects, or a great way to impress your friends, you can’t go wrong with these military grade lasers.

Evo 15mW: US$149.99
Evo 35mW: US$199.99
Evo 55mW: US$249.99
Evo 75mW: US$299.99
Evo 95mW: US$399.99
Evo 125mW: US$549.99

Conclusion

The idea of a powerful laser packed in a tiny package sounds sweet to most. And after using one, I must say it is indeed a great thing to own. Not something that you’ll need or use daily, but definitely something cool to have.

Remember not to point these lasers in anyone’s (or any pets’) eyes! The amount of power could easily cause permanent damage to the eyes.

The Mind Reading Toy

A toy that can read your mind, sounds impossible?

p817ex1.jpg

20Q is a toy that will ask you 20 questions and it will tell you what you’re thinking of.

The reviewers at Firebox performed a little experiment with 20Q. They thought of the word “Firebox”, which isn’t even in a dictionary. After asking 20 questions, 20Q guessed the word “Hotbox” which is remarkably close to what the reviewers were thinking!

If 20Q fails to guess the correct answer after asking 20 questions, it will ask a further 5 questions and gives its last guess before admitting defeat.

The new version of 20Q comes with a backlight which can be turned on using a switch.

Details of the product:

  • Requires 2 x AAA batteries - included
  • 20Q New Version is available in a variety of colours including red, blue and purple. Colour may vary from that pictured.
  • 20Q Original Version is available in a variety of colours including blue, red orange and purple. Colour may vary from that pictured.

Navigate Without GPS. Just Navizon And Your Laptop

Investing in a GPS unit used to be the only way to get a portable navigation system up and running. Not with Navizon now. Navizon has been available for many phones running on Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Symbian or Java. But with the release of Navizon Desktop yesterday, both your PC and Mac laptops can now make use of Navizon’s innovative technology.

Navizon for PC and Mac

“Navizon is a positioning system that works by triangulating signals from Wifi and/or Cellular towers. It is based on a community of users mapping the wireless landscape in their area and collecting Wifi and Cell towers locations all around the world. Once the data collected is shared with the rest of the network, everyone can benefit from Navizon’s virtual GPS, even on devices that do not include a GPS chip.”

If the area that you live in is blanketed by WiFi and has cellphone signals, Navizon has the potential of being really accurate.
