LocoRoco online sweepstakes

loco_roco.jpg

LocoRoco is said to be one of the best titles out there for Sony’s PSP. Unfortunately, all I know about the game so far derives from various online reviews, videos and screenshots. All I can say is that Loco Roco definitely falls into the category of cutest-looking-games-ever. I have been meaning to get myself a copy of the game for a while now, but …I got sidetracked by that one pair of boots… yet again.

Sony might have come to my rescue by organizing this Loco Roco online sweepstake; enter and you could be one of five lucky winners to get an adorable Loco Roco prize pack which contains two limited edition Loco Roco inflatables (small and large), a very special one-of-a-kind LocoRoco T-shirt, a beanie, and -- most importantly -- a copy of the game.

Unfortunately for me, the promotion is for US residents only. You can try and get your Loco Roco prize by entering the sweepstake until October 17th directly on the playstation.com site.

Good Luck!

Blackberry Pearl to Appear on Cingular in 2007

Blackberry Pearl 8100Cnet has confirmed that Cingular won’t carry the Blackberry Pearl 8100 until Q1 2007. Recent rumors had its release slated for Q4 2006, but we knew that was too good to be true. Expect the Cingular Pearl to sport a Push To Talk Feature and if we’re lucky high speed compatbility (the Pearl is Edge compatible but that don’t work with Cingular’s new Broadband service which rolled out earlier this year), although according to Cnet it should remain pretty similar to the Tmob version.

Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive Price Announced and Will Arrive in Japan in November

Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive
According to Engadget, Japan will be the first to receive the HD DVD player add on for the Xbox 360. The HD DVD drive should emerge over seas sometime in November (17th or 22nd) of this year and sport a $170 price tag (this is Japan pricing but US pricing should be comparable). Stil no word on when we’ll see the add-on in the US, but we expect it some time shortly after its release in Japan. In more Xbox 360 news, Microsoft will provide a software update that will allow for 1080p resolution although we were under the assumption that the TV market didn’t currently have any sets that could actually display this resolution (I have a SXRD Sony TV that lists 1080p in it specs but according to numerous reviews it lacks this feature).
